Eva, JS, and myself - the whole Gaubachi clan!

Eva used to be pretty picky, but now she's pretty good at trying most things, especially if she's helping me prepare it. She will usually squeak and nod her approval or simply open her mouth and let it all fall out if she doesn't like it.

JS is great fun to cook for. He gives me props when they're due and he's great at keeping things lighthearted when something's not turning out - we still joke about the hollandaise sauce of '09 that wasn't.

And lastly, I love cooking for myself! The pure joy and satisfaction I get when something turns better then I expected. It's a little victory, but I'll take it!

For privacy reasons I won't be posting a picture, but one of the people we enjoy cooking for the most is my mother-in-law. She lives near by on her own and has acquired some of the features that come with being older, like not so much mobility. We have her here when she is up for the stairs but we do a lot of meals that get run over to her 'special delivery'! We hope it helps to keep her meals healthy and gives her the chance to avoid the packaged foods that aren't compatible with her health issues. We often make extras to tuck in the freezer for her too. It is easy to add her to the dinner table, even if she isn't with us in person all the time.
