So far this challenge has focused on things you already know and love – today I’m looking forward and asking you to comment with a link showing a picture of an ingredient you would like to learn to cook with. Or just cook with better.

Remember – every comment on this and the other February Foodie Photo Challenge posts enters you into a draw to win a $50 gift certificate from any of the over 200 CSN stores.

Personally, I’d like to cook with offal. I’ve always wanted to cook with all the parts of an animal I eat, not just the choice cuts. I guess only practice will make perfect!

Happy Valentines day all! With today being a day of love I thought I would capitalize on the most iconic treat of the ‘holiday’ and make the photo challenge all about chocolate. What is your favorite kind of chocolate?

Me? I LOVE dark chocolate covered cranberries… though I’m not too picky about my chocolate!

TGIF. It’s been quite a week for me and I’m sure for many of you too and it’s time to celebrate that it is indeed Friday. What better way to do that than with a cocktail?!? Mine isn’t so much a cocktail, but just a great glass of red wine. So satisfying and relaxing. Today’s Foodie Photo Challenge: Show me a picture of your favourite drink – alcoholic or non.

Remember every comment on this and the previous 8 Feb Food Photo Challenge postings will enter you into win a $50 gift certificate that you can use for kitchen gadgets, linens and more!

I’m getting ready for Valentines with a double date dinner made for our hubbies by a girlfriend and I this weekend. And what would a special dinner be without dessert?? So today’s photo challenge is: Show me a picture of the dessert you make best.

It’s hard because it’s not always the one we like eating the most! While I adore all things chocolate, the dessert I make the best is a Jamie Oliver carrot cake. Moist and tasty – it takes the cake*
*Pun totally intended.

Last Friday Winterlude kicked off here in Ottawa and with it a new brand of Winterlude Food Experiences. The inaugural event was a dinner at the Museum of Nature by Chef Michael Smith. Chef Smith is one of the biggest influences in my cooking – his pressure free, experimental spirit is always in the back of my mind when I’m playing in the kitchen. So today’s photo challenge is as follows:

Show me a picture of the person who has influenced your cooking more than anyone else.

Today I posted a recipe from one of my all time favorite cookbooks – The Joy of Cooking.  If you need a recipe for almost anything it’s in there, and more often than not it rocks! So today’s challenge – Show me a picture of one of the cookbooks you use most often.  And remember, every comment on this post is entered to win a $50 gift certificate to CSN.

It’s Monday… and time for another week of my February Foodie Photo Challenge. Since Mondays are usually something so many of us dislike – let’s go in the opposite direction. Show me a photo of an ingredient that you LOVE cooking with.  Something you just couldn’t imagine cooking without!

This is a harder question than I thought it would be… but I narrowed it down to ‘garlic’. I love it – it’s in almost everything I make from soups and stews to roasts and BBQ. Ahhh garlic – how I love you…

In the comments section leave me a link to your best loved ingredient and you will be entered into a draw for a $50 CSN gift certificate… think of the fancy garlic press you could get!

Well here we are at the end of our first week of the photo challenge – if the rest of February keeps this up it will be over in no time! That’s my wishful thinking at least… Since I’m writing this posting with my puppy on my lap (someone who may enjoy food even more than me, and is always very appreciative of everything I make) I am inspired for today’s challenge.

Show me a picture of the person / some of the people who you enjoy cooking for the most.

For me that’s got to be ‘Hubby’ and ‘The Kid’ – always super willing to try something new and for the most part honest with their feedback, which is usually quite good!

Who do you love cooking for? Attach a link to your picture in the comments section of this post and be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to any of the over 200 CSN online stores – they have a great assortment of pans, kitchen gadgets and more.

Alright foodies… challenge day 3! Today I want to see a picture of one of your guilty food pleasures. One of those, I know it’s bad for me but sometimes I just got to have it.

Though I have many, I more often than not get a craving for Pepsi – not coke, not diet – the real stuff.

Remember to add a comment with your link to a picture and you will be entered in a draw for a $50 gift certificate to any one of the over 200 CSN online stores. Every comment is an entry!

Wow! What a great start to the photo challenge!! To make things even sweeter, I’m giving away a $50 gift certificate to CSN stores to one lucky commenter. The gift certificate can be put towards anything such as swing sets, cookware, or any of CSN’s 200 other online stores. All you need to do is comment with a photo (or any other comment) during this month’s photo challenge and you will be entered in the draw. Every comment on a Photo Challenge post is an entry! I will draw the winner March 1st. Good luck! And on to today’s Foodie Photo Challenge.

Since it’s snowing like crazy out there, I can’t get away from the thought of comfort food. Show me a photo of your ‘go to’ comfort food. For me it’s got to be home made Mac and Cheese…

Remember every comment on this post and others in the Foodie Photo Challenge get you a draw for the $50 gift certificate!
