The List.
It can be a different thing to different people but for a foodie like me it can mean only one thing – it’s a listing of all the Ottawa restaurants I want to try. I’m going to start with a selection of 100 entries in the 2009 Capital Dining Guide from the Ottawa Citizen. From there I will probably add to this every now and then – and strike a few out along the way (only when they have been reviewed on this blog). Leave me comments on places I haven’t mentioned that you think I should check out.

Great list! Anne DesBrisay’s Capital Dining 2009 list right?
Would you like to cross-reference it with the Ottawa Magazine’s 100 To Try Before You Die and add missing eateries?
Lordy, there’s a bunch of places I’ve been to on that list I haven’t blogged about, but have pictures from…

It’s is based on Anne’s list! I edited it to 100 that were in my neck of the woods.
Would love to cross reference it with the Ottawa Magazine Top 100! But I’m scared that’s just going to add another 50 to the list!
What must try places do you think I should add?

I should also say that I have been to a couple of these places before, but it’s been a while and I never reviewed them. So I’m using it as an excuse to go again!

I can’t believe that ALL of these restaurants are in Ottawa. I (in the land of diners and drive-thrus and not the fun kind on the Food Network) am mega jealous and can’t wait for all of your mouth-watering reviews. I haven’t thought of any to add to the list yet but love sooo many of these.

Hmmm, if you ever need a partner to go with you, contact me
I went to Beckta with my parents last winter – it was amazing. Our family loves Indian and Vietnamese so we like to frequent those restaurants when we get the chance!

I love this list! I thought I had eaten at a lot of places in Ottawa, but I have 46 to go apparently. BTW, Fratelli is on the list twice (perhaps you mean 2 of their locations?).
Just stumbled across your blog and am looking forward to reading your reviews and interesting posts. Am so trying to feed my family fresh, local, unprocessed food but it’s a daily struggle.

I didn’t! But that is great news because it means I get to add another place! Hmmm… what should I add??

You are missing Atelier. Not for everyone but wow!
I think Otown isn’t quite ready for it and that’s why it’s not on any list.
Chayaha Malaysia is as authentic as you can get. Lived in Indonesia and when I moved here went straight there. Amazing!
Drive out to Brookstreet. It is worth every penny. Each course was so well executed I thought I was in NYC.

Your blog is awesome! I have a blog sorta about Ottawa food, but it’s mainly about me traveling around the world eating, and I just happen to be in Ottawa now! http://www.annieyenchenchu.blogspot.com

How about Pepper Garden on Montreal Road? It doesn’t look like much and it’s mostly frequented by a more mature crowd, plus it’s next to a Pizza Hut, but the homemade pasta is incredible, and it has great beers! Also, it serves Mariposa Farm duck! So good =)

You haven’t visited Genji yet? Should try it out on Saturday when the Chef Selection menu is available.
